Theme Thursday: Inspired by Shakespeare

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

Happy Thursday!

I keeping along the Romeo and Juliet theme this week, so today’s theme is inspired by Shakespeare!

This wedding would be over the top luxurious + classy. With brass details, luscious florals and glamorous calligraphy, this wedding would be fit for a Capulet.

Pretty, don’t ya think?

Theme Thursday: Stitched

| DIY, Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

Happy Thursday!

You know that I like to be a bit crafty, so today’s theme is one of my favorites.

I love how the color palette for this Stitched theme came together – the colors work so
well together and the feel of this wedding is super fun.

My vision for this theme was to have the stitched thread look throughout, and I feel like that vision was accomplished, complete with stitching on the invites (a reoccurring dream of mine), stitched details on the cake and stitched table numbers.

I’d love to help plan a wedding like this someday.

I mean come on, candy button favors? What could be more perfect?

Theme Thursday: The Luckiest

| Inspiration, Music, Theme, Wedding Ideas

Hello lovelies!

Only a few more days until St. Patty’s day, and the weather here in little old Iowa is absolutely amazing – it’s been in the upper 70′s all week! Almost unheard of, so I’m enjoying every moment I get to be outdoors.

Today’s theme is called The Luckiest, and it’s perfectly aligned with the upcoming Irish holiday with lovely green details and a gorgeous ruffled dress.

The name comes from the Ben Fold’s song, and I know this isn’t Music Monday but I’m in love with the song.

“And where was I before the day that I first saw your lovely face? Now I see it everyday and I know that I am, I am, I am the luckiest…”

In love with that song. Hear the rest here.

Such a lovely looking day.

Theme Thursday: Vintage French Inspired

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

Today’s theme is inspired by French pinks and grays with a vintage feel.

I’ve never been to Paris, but I’d love to travel to Europe someday just to experience the lovliness and snap photos along the way.

For this theme, black and white accents with swoops, swirls and lace are perfection. A pale pink dress paired with Chanel wedding shoes is to die for.

Customized pink lemonade bottles as favors would be super adorable.

Oh, and I have a big announcement coming on the blog later today! Make sure to check back for the details.

Theme Thursday: Balloons [I think this would be so fun!]

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

My girly + whimsical side has emerged today [despite my lack of sleep + collectedness after my long weekend in Vegas] and I’m in love with today’s theme!

Ever since I saw BHLDN use balloons in their marketing pieces I have wanted to theme a wedding around balloons and I could not be more happy with how today’s turned out.

A springy, pastel palette that reflects the color of translucent balloons is gorgeous, and paired with light colored touches this makes out to be such a whimsical [and a tiny bit vintage] theme.

I’m in love with the programs, I did something similar for my lovely friend Lindsay’s wedding back in August. And the variety in the dresses is lovely.

Have a wonderful and warm day my loves!

Theme Thursday: Vegas Baby!

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

Hello loves!

I’m going to be totally honest… I’m not 100% sold on today’s theme.

I’m more of a vintage, rustic, soft colored wedding girl, so a Vegas wedding kind of goes against what I dream about.

And the spontaneous Vegas wedding – definitely not for me… I’m the opposite of spontaneous.

In fact – Justin and I are planning on being spontaneous and getting tattoos in Las Vegas – we have the tattoos we want picked out, the place we want to get them at picked out and we even researched the artists to see which person we would want to have do ours – that’s how spontaneous we are.

BUT, as you are reading this I am on a jet plane on my way to spend the weekend and Justin’s 27th birthday in Sin City, so I thought a Vegas themed wedding was only appropriate.

You could have lots of fun with this theme – put a vintage glam feel on it with deep reds, feathers and neon lights.

It has potential, right?

Wish me luck on the penny slots! Haha.. do they even have those in Vegas?

Theme Thursday: So Cal (I’m In LOVE with this Color Palatte)

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

YOU GUYS!

Seriously… you are amazing.

On Tuesday my guest post on Design*Sponge was posted and it was shared + liked + commented on too many times for me to even count.

I am beside myself right now with all the love and support you all gave me – I worked hard on the post and am so happy it inspired so many people.

If you haven’t read it yet, make sure you jump on over to Design*Sponge and read it  - when you’re done reading this email, of course :)

When I got engaged, I had no clue there were so many options for colors. Had I known (or had help from a someone who knew what they were doing) I would have chosen this absolutely gorgeous palatte.

In today’s theme, peach is the perfect accent color for this beige, pale blue and pink Southern California inspired palatte. Soft bright colors with off white create such a fun + clean design that I am loving right now.

Add in some floral patterns and vintage place settings and you got yourself one gorgeous day.

I love, love, love the softer colors with a floral pattern… seriously fab.

Again, thank you so so much for your support this week – I am so thankful for each and everyone of you. Here’s the link to the Design*Sponge post again.

Have a lovely, lovely day today!

Theme Thursday: Love Letters

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

As I was putting this theme together I realized that this is a very Valentine’s Day focused theme… oops! I’m about a month early but oh well.

A Love Letter themed wedding would be absolutely gorgeous – with hand written invitations, lots of lace and pops of coral and red you can’t go wrong.

So intimate and romantic. And those Valentino shoes are stunning!

My favorite part about this theme is the color palate.

Sometimes red can be a hard/harsh color, but not in this sense.

Paired with coral, creams and browns it is really toned down and becomes a stunning accent. Yes?

What do you like best about this theme?  Write it in the comments below.

Just an FYI – I’m partnering with my friend Tracy Matthews who creates custom wedding jewelry in NYC, and she’d offering the first 5 people to contact her a 10% discount, which is amazing.
Seriously though - Charlize Theron and some of the American Idols have been seen wearing her stuff.. she’s good.

Theme Thursday: Winter White

| Inspiration, Theme, Wedding Ideas

I have lived in Iowa my entire life, and as much as I dislike the negative temps in the dead of winter I love how the fields and trees with a layer of freshly fallen snow.

So pure and white – it’s absolutely gorgeous.

So today I’m sharing a Winter White theme with you because I know the snow is just around the corner.

Isn’t it just so clean, refreshing and breathtakingly beautiful? Now, I’m all about color, but this theme is definitely moving to the top of my list of favs.

What do you think about a clean, white wedding?
