Today I’m dreaming of long days on the beach with a big floppy hat and a great book – with all of this beautiful weather lately, it’s hard not to want to soak in some sun!
I’ve done a bit of research on some amazing beach wedding destinations in the United States – and only one of my top picks is in Florida or Hawaii!
When it comes to beach weddings, I don’t like the normal ‘seashell themed favors + totally tropical destination’ thing – I think there are a million different ways you can make your beach wedding different.
Here are my top U.S. beach wedding picks:
Jekyll Island, Georgia:
Jekyll is actually the one place on this list I’ve been to, and it may have been the first time I realized that I loved weddings. In 1886, Jekyll Island was purchased to become an exclusive winter retreat for America’s most elite families, known as the Jekyll Island Club. For more than half a century, the nation’s leading families, including the Rockefellers, Morgans, Pulitzers, and Goulds came to Jekyll Island to escape. How amazing would it be to have a wedding here? It’s truly stunning.
It’s name translates to ‘beautiful place by the sea’.. can you get more perfect than that? This small, quaint village by the sea is known for the finest stretch of pristine beach with glistening white sand, small harbors with fishermen and restaurants, lounges, art galleries, gift shops, inns, hotels and guesthouses. I hear a clambake calling my name!
Kapalua Bay Beach, Maui, Hawaii
I just couldn’t leave off Hawaii – what better place for a beach wedding? With tranquil surf and top notch accommodations, this is the place to get married if you want a Hawaiian wedding.
Cooper’s Beach, New York
Hellloo Hamptons! While it may be one of the best beaches in the US, it’s also one of the most expensive! But if you’re willing to look past the cost and focus on the beautiful historic mansions and grass covered dunes – you’ll love it! Calvin Klein owns a mansion here, so it has to be lovely, right?
Coronado is home to one of the top wedding destinations in the country – the Hotel del Coronado, a Victorian beachfront beauty. Plus, Coronado beach was named the #1 beach in the country in 2012.. so I’m guessing it’s gotta be gorgeous + the perfect place for your wedding getaway.
There you have it! My top 5 beaches for destination beach weddings in the US.
Have you been to any of these? What did you think?
