Hey loves!
Today I get to share with you one of my favorite things – shortbread cookies! Not gonna lie, I mainly did this post because I wanted to make some shortbread but needed an excuse to.
I love the idea of handmade favors, and cookies are a simple favor that can add lots of fun to your wedding day. I made shortbread bars and then used a tiny heart cookie cutter to cut them into heart shaped bits of deliciousness.
Here’s my favorite shortbread recipe: go to the recipe.
These are super simple and takes less than an hour to make – one note though: they’re much easier if you have a Kitchen Aid mixer because it involves cutting in cold sticks of butter.
After your cookies are done baking in the pan, I cut the sheet of shortbread into 4 sections and pulled each section out to use the cookie cutter on.
Mine were pretty crumbly because I didn’t mix the butter in all the way, but they were still delicious.
To make these into favors, put a few cookies in to fun bags like these, these or these.
