I grew up in a small town in Iowa with a mom and a dad and a brother and a sister and a dog named Facho. I loved to draw, color and wear things that no one else would (mainly because they were hand me downs from the early 80′s…). Creativity was in my blood.
When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to do something with my love of color swatches, art and paper. I went to a 2 year design school and LOVED it. I knew that I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I went on to get my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, which only strengthened my design skills because now I had knowledge about business and how to design campaigns that sell stuff.
I got married in the heat of the summer and planned out every tiny detail of our DIY shindig by myself, and after our wedding I was still really into wedding blogs and read them on a daily basis.
It wasn’t until I went through Marie Forleo and Laura Roeder’s Rich, Happy and Hot B-School that I realized that everything I like to do in my free time could be centered around weddings… Design, DIY, Letterpress, Antiquing, Color Swatches, and Crafting.
When I came to this realization, I created Oh, What Love Studios, a wedding design business and blog.
I still live in that small town I grew up in with my husband and our two pups, Wrigley and Rocky. On the weekends we go to auctions and search for items to rent out for our wedding ‘Prop Shop’ and love to take weekend trips all over the country.
