5 Unique Ways to Display Your Name Cards

| DIY, Inspiration, Wedding Ideas

If you’re having assigned tables at your wedding, you already know that there are a million ways to display the name cards for your guests.

There are so many great options when it comes to the name cards. You can create a really unique look that fits your wedding style by using things you find at flea markets or auctions. Think outside the box, make your name card your favor too, take what you already have and make it into something useable.

Here are a few of my favorites right now:

Using A Chalkboard:

Simple, easy to do last minute and easily changeable in case you need to add guests or move people around!

Plus, you can make your own chalkboard – it’s super simple. Just find a piece of particle board at a hardware store, prime it and paint it with chalk paint. Two or three coats will be needed, but it dries pretty quickly. To make it magnetic, use a piece of tin instead of the particle board.

Old Windows, Doors and Shutters:

These have got to be my favorite because I go to a lot of auctions and flea markets and see old windows, doors and shutters all the time. Such a great way to add some vintage flair to your wedding, and you can get these cheap too.

For the shutters, you can either use folded cards, hanging the back fold over the shutter slat, you can use clothespins to clip your name cards on, or use string to tie them on.

I love how this bride tied twine around the door and clipped the name cards to the twine. SO many good ideas!

Picture Frames:

For a more classy look, find some matching picture frames and download a nice calligraphic font like Some Wheats or The King and Queen

Print out your guest’s names and table numbers and place them in the frames. The frames can be as simple or as intricate as you’d like, just make sure they have a similar style.

A great way to kill 2 birds with one stone is to have your name cards attached the the favors. Tied with a ribbon, you can dress up your favors and have them serve an additional purpose.

Statement pieces:

How adorable is this piece? You would have to have the right wedding style to pull this off, but I love the love birds theme and the grass. And BONUS – Ruffled Blog has a tutorial on how to make this. Read it here.

What’s your favorite idea?
